The shell motifs are embroidered with the so-called thick stitch. A hand-embroidered, intensive technique.
The Penduka women have developed this "thick stitch" themselves. The contrast between their social environment and this very delicate embroidery confirms once again the enormous differences that are encountered every day in Namibia.
The material is machine washable at 60 ° C.
