Flea market of the Weltladen Bad Nauheim in favor of Penduka
Elvis, the King of Rock´n Roll helped raise funds for Penduka !!
At the end of the 1950s Elvis Presley was stationed as a soldier in Friedberg and lived in Bad Nauheim. Every year the city of Bad Nauheim celebrates the Elvis Festival. Evenso this year too.
The weekend from August 13th to 15th, 2021 there were music events, open shops and cafes, lots of guests and pure sunshine all weekend.
The Weltladen Bad Nauheim also used this for a flea market, the proceeds of which will be donated in full to the women of the Penduka project in the townships of Windhoek. The hardworking employees of the Weltladen cleared their cupboards and storerooms, donated and were on their feet from Friday to Sunday to bring books, CDs, games and household items to men and women in front of the Weltladen.
The result is impressive: € 1.720 to assist the Penduka women.
Due to the pandemic, no tourists could come to Penduka. The women have no income and “gnaw - literally - on the hunger cloth”.
The worst misery is alleviated through the foundation in the Netherlands.
