| Many of the Penduka women were already able to secure their own brick house, bought with interest free loans. Currently, Penduka looks into low cost building for newer staff which could so far not be assisted with an interest free home loan. House prices and circumstances have changed dramatically over the years and it is now very hard to even get a piece of ground to put a shack on.
| Penduka also gives interest free study loans to women after running through an application process.
Members of Penduka in the rural areas can also apply for a individual or groups loan: When they have raised 50% of the desired amount by themselves, Penduka can add the other half. | Like many micro credit systems, we rely on reliable repayments to be able to maintain our offer within the Penduka community. Our experience shos that dealing with women and having worked together with them as artisans before are valuable assets in this regard.
