Backpack,basketprint, purple-grey

Endless Journey backpack.
Leather bag combined with Penduka batik fabric. The pattern, 'Namibian basket print', was designed by the Penduka artists from the slums of Katutura, Windhoek. The basket print is made with an authentic Namibian basket that leaves its interesting and delicate texture on the fabric. A Penduka artist works for about 1 day on a 7 meter dust cloth. They use a traditional method to obtain the batik paste pattern: they apply flour paste in a pattern to the fabric and then dye it by hand (eco-friendly). After the paint has dried, they remove the flour and this creates a beautiful pattern.
The backpack has a zipper and telephone compartment on the inside.
The straps are made of sturdy canvas.
