Kids Apron Village Embroidery, in bright blue and grey

Cotton apron for small kitchen helpers. This product is made by rural women in Namibia. By means of embroidery they tell their story and process their experiences and problems. Once a week the women come together to evaluate each other's products, hand them in and get new material and thread. Embroidery is possible everywhere; while waiting at the well, talking to the neighbor or even in the hospital waiting room. It is more difficult when the sun goes down, which is why many women now have a small rechargeable solar light. For example, they can now work in the evening without fear of fire or sparks destroying their work. Size: 45cm x 52cm. Weight 65 grams. Available in bright blue with aqua colored stitching and gray with vibrant colored stitching. Village embroidery designs vary depending on which story the individual Penduka embroidery lady has to tell (village scenes, fetching water, Katutura street scenes ...). Durable material, 100% cotton, machine washable.
