I was working in Namibia for many years at the PolyTechnic Windhoek and for the Ministry of Wildlife and Tourism, producing Environmental Profiles of different regions in Namibia. During this work, I was introduced by colleagues working at Penduka as a volunteer to Penduka and their staff.

The organisation impressed me because of their mission to help women coming from less wealthy parts of the society, to be able to earn money to improve their standards of living.

I was also impressed by the multi-disciplinary way of working, from designing and producing many different products, having a shop, running a restaurant and accommodation.

To be able to support the organisation from my home country, The Netherlands, I joined the Penduka Foundation and participate as a board member since many years .
